Below is important information about enrollment, admissions, grading, graduation, and more.

  • ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES

    1. Visit our 4 School webpages and decide which area of study interests you. Prayerfully select a degree as a goal. Make note of the credit hours needed for your degree.

    2. Email our Admissions Office at info@EastgateChristianCollege.com to request an admissions application and to introduce yourself to us! The form can be emailed back to the same email address once completed, along with a $25 application fee which can be submitted on our Tuition and Financing page. At that time, also include a letter listing your professional and/or ministry experiences so that we might consider satisfying credits based on your unique journey. If you are seeking to transfer credits, please explain and include former transcripts.

    3. Admission to the school is based on evidence of a student’s ability to be successful in completing the designated requirements of his/her chosen program of study. The evidence includes records of prior academic learning in the form of official transcripts, specialized training, documented independent study, and the letter of recent professional work experience, as well as personal motivation to achieve educational and career objectives.

    4. Once you are accepted and receive your welcome letter from our founders, choose your payment method and submit payment on our Tuition and Financing page. Then, browse your specific School's catalogue of courses and doing the credit-hour math, jot down the classes needed to complete your degree. All of our classes have a 3-credit hour value. So, for a 120-hour Bachelor's degree, you would need to select 40 classes. Make special note of the required credit-hour breakdown on the final page of each School's catalogue.

    5. Send us your list of desired classes and an Advisor will recommend to you a solid starting place based on your goals. You will then be sent that class' coursework, as well as a textbook guide for your next upcoming classes so that you can plan ahead. We aim to keep textbook costs low and most classes just require one book, which you can usually order from Amazon with fast delivery. For your Bible classes you will also need a Bible. All courses can be completed online using just the course material and/or videos we provide via Dropbox. The only exception to this is a few Media classes which we would suggest you attend on campus, but if you are out of state you can attend via Zoom.

    6. Once you get started you can complete your class at your own pace. We suggest you do one class at a time for greater retention of information, unlike the typical academic semester overload which results in multiple final exams at once. Should you have any questions about your class, just email teacher@EastgateChristianCollege.com and you should have a reply that same day or at least within 24 hours. Please see our Grading tab below for details on our unique grading system and accommodating testing methods. Should you ever feel the need to drop a class, communicate that quickly to your teacher, select your next class, and request that coursework then start again.

  • EASTGATE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE wants to meet you right where you are. If you have no higher education or professional experience, we can supply every course you need that will accomplish the first and prepare you for the last. But if you are someone who has already had both, we want to celebrate your life's journey. There are valuable life lessons that are learned in the workplace and in ministry, and we want to acknowledge yours. Read below to discover how our college satisfies credit hours based on your previous professional and ministry experiences, not to mention, we also allow the transferring of credits from other academic institutions. By following the admission steps above, an advisor will get back with you and begin considering all of these and then designing your degree just for you.

EVALUATION OF PRIOR LEARNING AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
The preparedness of each applicant is evaluated on the basis of previous experience. The instruments used by the academic committee for this evaluation include: 1) transcripts from other institutions of higher learning, 2) a resume’ of occupational experience, 3) records of specialized training, 4) previously published (or self published and marketed) books or professional projects that are relevant to the pursued degree, and 5) an autobiographical written statement. The overall credits granted for professional experience (experiential learning) depend upon the student’s position and how that experience relates to his or her degree program.

    TRANSFERRING CREDITS
After an evaluation by the Academic Committee, Eastgate Christian College accepts transfer credits from educational institutions which are appropriate to the desired degree program. Under the evaluation process, official transcripts are required. Official Transcripts must come directly from the Colleges/Universities in a sealed envelope. Only credits related to each schools’ studies will be considered.

    DUAL ENROLLMENT FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS
High school students (including homeschoolers or those in public or private schools) looking for a Bible curriculum for high school credit will want to take advantage of the ECC School of Biblical Studies. By dual enrolling and completing all required courses, they will graduate from high school with a fully accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies. Each student will be interviewed with parents (via Zoom) to discuss qualifications and ensure readiness.

  • GRADING
Eastgate Christian College wants to encourage dependence upon the Bible and other supplemental textbooks required for each class. As a result, all work is done open book, including tests and final exams. Just as no Pastor is required to create a sermon without referring back to the Bible, we want to foster this practice with all of the literature we require in the form of articles, textbooks and of course, the Scriptures. Because of this, a minimum score of 95 is required to pass each course. Any student receiving below a 95 will merely need to reread the material and repeat the test and final exam (at no additional cost) until a 95 is achieved. This grading system ensures mastery of each subject, as opposed to “barely graduating” with low scores and no understanding of course material. It also does away with the enticement for “cheating,” since again, we are actually aiming to encourage you to refer back to course material—especially the Bible—often in life.

    INTENT TO GRADUATE:
Each candidate to graduate from Eastgate Bible Institute must file an Intent to Graduate form with the Registrar’s Office once their entire degree’s coursework is complete, or by May 1st for that year’s graduation ceremony. Please email Registrar@EastgateChristianCollege.com for that form.

    GRADUATION CEREMONY:
Each Spring, Eastgate Christian College will hold a graduation ceremony on campus. Caps and gowns will be ordered for students after the Intent to Graduate form is completed and monies for those are submitted. A photographer will be present for official graduation photos to be made and ordered. Students are encouraged to invite family and friends.

    OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
Official Transcripts are provided upon written request or by e-mail. The first transcript is free. A small charge will be required for each additional official copy.
